SOCIAL MATURITY THROUGH DANCE

“Dance makes meaning using the body as the instrument of expression and movement as the medium. In an educational context, dance offers children an opportunity to learn by involving the whole body in kinaesthetic exploration, cognitive processing, aesthetic experimentation and social engagement. – Deans, Meiners, Young and Rank (2017, p. 95)”⠀

Kinect2Dance incursions provide students with a dance experience that is based around fun and fitness.

So how does dance develop children’s social maturity?⠀

Dance teaches children cooperation, coordination, concentration and most importantly creativity. Including dance styles such as Latin and Ballroom allows students to work together in teams, assisting one another and growing in their experience together. ⠀
