KINESTHETIC. LEARNING: HOW. CAN. WE. IMPLEMENT. THIS. IN. SCHOOLS?

Step away from the books, and into the body.

Kinesthetic learning is a practical, hands-on approach to learning that can be used in conjunction with visual and auditory techniques to provide a multi-sensory learning experience. Processing information is vastly different from person to person, therefore, to satisfy the needs of an entire cohort, it is essential to incorporate a variety of learning styles. Through physical interaction in Dance, kinesthetic learning increases information retention and energy. For students there is instant gratification, as students can see the evidence of what they are learning as they apply the techniques.

This is where we come in.
During a Kinect2Dance incursion students physical repetition of tasks also improves muscle memory, and enhances critical thinking and problem-solving skills through analytical, trial and error participation. Our classes are structured with kinesthetic techniques, using movement to teach rhythm, music, dance, discipline, communication and social skills, a lot of which cannot be achieved through regular academic learning. Integrating this method in schools creates more opportunities and appeals to those who are not particularly fond of writing essays, and instead, would prefer to get up and about.

So what are you waiting for?
Let’s get up and dance!
